The methodologies and philosophies that define the way we work at Kahn are no
secret to our clients or team members.
In fact, as a firm that's ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certified,
we're relentless about documenting
our processes and continuously searching
for means to improve upon our work.
The principles around which we focus our efforts aren't based upon the trend
du jour. Rather, they reflect the way we approach each commission we undertake
- diligently and enthusiastically without sacrificing economic, social and
environmentally-focused best practices.

Lean design is a business practice and philosophy that allows us to do more with less. It's about efficiency,
workflow and the reduction of waste. And it's a constantly evolving effort to improve our practices. Using a variety of tools
and processes, Kahn's experienced team members are able to keep program goals, budgets and schedules in check,
leading clients confidently and reassuringly through their projects, from ground breaking to grand opening.
Our approach to sustainability is about meeting the needs of our clients today while not ignoring our obligation to meet the needs of next generations. We believe that what we do each day not only benefits us now, but is a leadership example that guides Kahn's future. Mind if we elaborate?
As a member of the U. S. Green Building Council, we proudly
boast of the fact that we have nearly 100
LEED Accredited Professionals - and over one
dozen registered or LEED Certified projects in our portfolio.
We've also developed a proprietary sustainability capital planning tool that
helps guide clients through the strategic planning of their facilities to incorporate
sustainable materials and systems. This patent-pending process and tool helps
clients as they assess the decision process for obtaining LEED certification
and provides an analysis on the client's return on investment. The tool also
evaluates the client's overall business strategy and strategic plan, ultimately
mapping a sound business strategy for the client to follow.
These factors all work together to demonstrate our commitment to delivering clients truly responsible design solutions.
Evidence-based design is another practice that we wholeheartedly embrace. It is the process of basing decisions about the built environment on credible research to achieve the best possible outcomes. By skillfully blending design processes with business analytics, we work side-by-side with clients to create environments that both perform and inspire.
