Our Detroit office is seeking a full-time BIM Manager to join our multi-disciplinary team. This individual will play a key leadership role in managing and advancing the firm’s Building Information Modeling (BIM) strategy, implementation, and standards across all projects and departments.
The BIM Manager will serve as the firm’s primary Revit and CAD subject matter expert, responsible for developing BIM standards, supporting project teams, and providing training and guidance to ensure consistent, high-quality modeling practices across disciplines. This position requires both technical expertise and leadership, with the ability to drive innovation, improve workflows, and support project teams in delivering efficient, coordinated design solutions.

Job Responsibilities
BIM Strategy & Implementation
Led the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the firm’s BIM strategy and standards
Track and report on the company’s current and projected BIM capabilities, particularly in relation to Revit implementation and adoption
Develop strategies to expand and optimize BIM usage across disciplines
Evaluate existing workflows and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and model coordination
Plan, execute, and evaluate BIM implementation initiatives and technology rollouts
BIM Standards & Workflow Development
Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of firmwide BIM standards and best practices
Develop and maintain BIM documentation, templates, and workflow processes
Ensure project teams adhere to established modeling standards and documentation requirements
Create automated routines and tools within BIM platforms to support productivity, consistency, and quality control
Develop and maintain Revit families and content libraries to support documentation needs
Training & Technical Support
Serve as the firm’s primary Revit and CAD trainer, delivering onboarding and continuing education for staff
Provide individualized training and technical support to ensure staff competency in BIM and modeling workflows
Evaluate staff proficiency and identify opportunities for further training and development
Maintain a high level of expertise in BIM software, tools, and industry standards
Technology Coordination
Collaborate with IT to coordinate software upgrades, hardware requirements, and system performance related to BIM workflows
Provide guidance on technology infrastructure needed to support BIM modeling and data management
Identify and evaluate emerging BIM tools and software solutions that support project delivery
Project & Client Collaboration
Support project teams in BIM execution planning and model coordination
Assist with BIM standards coordination and documentation requirements for client projects
Participate in client meetings and project coordination efforts as required
Industry Engagement & Innovation
Stay current with industry trends and evolving BIM technologies
Identify opportunities for innovation and improved design workflows
Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and professional organizations
Contribute to marketing and thought leadership initiatives through presentations, articles, and technical content
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in AEC industry, including production experience in design, drafting or engineering
Advanced, in-depth knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, ReCap, and BIM-related plugins/extensions
Strong understanding of BIM standards such as NCS and NBIMS
Demonstrated ability to develop and enforce BIM standards and workflows
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others
Self-starter with a strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in both team and independent environments
Preference
5+ years of experience in AEC industry w/ production experience in design, drafting or engineering
Experience with additional BIM-related software including RAM, RISA, IES, Trane Trace, Green Building Suite, SketchUp, Rhino/Grasshopper, MicroStation, or similar platforms
Experience with computational design workflows
Examples of published BIM-related blogs, articles, or webinar presentations
Experience implementing impel with LEAN design principles
Active participation in industry groups such as TAP, DABUG, cd.de.D, Autodesk University, or AUGI
