Position Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for actively generating new business opportunities for Albert Kahn Associates. This role is highly outward-facing, focused on identifying prospects, building relationships with clients and partners, and ensuring that Kahn is well-positioned for project pursuits across key markets.
This individual thrives on making connections, uncovering leads, and turning conversations into tangible opportunities. Motivated by winning work, they bring persistence, energy, and creativity to every interaction, acting as a trusted first point of contact for clients and collaborators.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Actively pursue and develop new leads to expand Kahn’s client base and market presence.
Build and nurture relationships with clients, consultants, and industry partners at all levels.
Represent Kahn at networking events, conferences, and industry functions to raise visibility and uncover opportunities.
Partner with marketing staff to prepare proposals, presentations, and pursuit strategies.
Support Principals and senior leaders by setting up introductions and ensuring follow-up on client opportunities.
Track client activity, leads, and pursuits through CRM and maintain accurate records of interactions.
Stay informed about market trends, upcoming projects, and client priorities to identify opportunities early.
Collaborate with internal teams to bring forward client intelligence and align project approaches.
Consistently drive pursuit activity with urgency, persistence, and measurable progress.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.
5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client relations.
Proven ability to identify and generate new opportunities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in relationship-building.
Highly motivated, energetic, and competitive with a focus on results.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple pursuits and priorities simultaneously.
