Our Detroit office is looking for a Senior Project Manager to oversee all phases of project development, from initial schematic design through construction administration and the final project close out process.

About the Role

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Act as a liaison between the design team and the client; represent Kahn throughout the project

  • Manage internal job coordination meetings, manage drawing distribution process, and maintain project files

  • Record and distribute meeting minutes, organize, and schedule meetings; manage record keeping processes

  • Manage the distribution of RFI & Submittals, ensure timely responses, manage documents in Newforma database, and interface and collaborate with Construction Managers and/or Contractors

  • Manage design team activities (scope, schedule, and budget hours); develop design schedules

  • Manage A/E activities during the Bid & Award process; provide bid analysis to confirm scope is covered by documents

  • Manage construction administration process, represent the A/E in OAC meetings, conduct site visits for quality monitoring and develop site reports, review pay applications for approval, coordinate the project close-out process

  • Manage subconsultants and ensure proper design team integration

  • Participate in quality assurance process, review test reports and document deficiencies

  • Interface with code officials and manage subconsultant activities

  • Support the Project Principal (managing, scheduling, estimating, reporting)

  • Provide cost estimating of construction projects up to ten million dollars

  • Develop schedules in Microsoft Project, Primavera, or other scheduling software

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, or relevant Architectural/Engineering studies

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience working in the construction industry, or relevant A/E design experience

  • Excellent communication skills; must be able to speak, read, and write well in the English language

  • Demonstrated proficiency in implementing project reporting controls

  • Experience working in Vision software program

  • Self-starter with high degree of problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple projects

  • People skills, ability to organize and guide others in decision making processes

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Must be able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines

  • High degree of professionalism and integrity

  • Strong work ethic, reliable

  • Strong analytical skills
